In the not-too-distant past, there were the door-to-door salesmen. There are probably some still today. They would carry their vacuum cleaners or their encyclopedias around in their car... then during the right time of the day, they would start knocking on doors to see if people would want to purchase their products.
Oh, by the way, if you’re too young to know what an encyclopedia is, Google it.
The reason there were so many of these salesmen was because it worked. Selling in-person works really well compared to mailing letters, emails or phone calls. You’ve probably even heard the technique of knocking on doors of foreclosures to talk directly to motivated sellers.
People just like to buy from people they know and see. Trouble is, going door-to-door takes a lot of time. You may talk to someone for several hours and still not have a chance to purchase the property.
