“What’s your USP?” he asked.
“I use FedEx,” I replied.
“Your USP... not your UPS. Your Unique Selling Proposition.
“In other words,” he said, “what makes you different from everyone else?”
That question really hit home... the brief, yet powerful conversation had a big impact on me. And I’m hoping this lesson will have a big impact on you. I

Different Is Great
Listen to me carefully…
You must proactively and consciously do SOMEthing to set yourself apart from your competition. There must be something special about you that draws people/buyers/sellers/other investors in.
Maybe think of it the way Ralph Waldo Emerson did…
“To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.”
Our USP (and one that I encourage you to borrow for your market) is our TRUE wholesale deals and our integrity.
This an example of a subject line that I commonly use in my email marketing:

I combine that with being unusually personable in all my communication.
Make Your Deals Great
“You have to learn the rules of the game. And then, you have to play better than anyone else.”
Ever notice how if you look on the major national wholesale property websites, a lot of the deals aren’t that great?
Make your deals the exception.
Ever shake your head when you look at the ARVs quoted on wholesale listings knowing that they are overinflated?
Don’t do that.
Ever had a seller empty out a box of 150 postcards that they got in the mail because they are in foreclosure?
Why would you want to add to that box? Do something different.
“Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.”
Go where no one else is going. Do what no one else is doing. Say what everyone else is scared to say (namely, the truth).
Be exceptional. Be different. Be exciting.
The first thing you need to do is start getting some leads that 17,000 other investors in your market don’t already have.
