Are you at a place in your investing business where you feel stuck? High-centered? Not where you once were, but still a long way from where you want to be? Do you have obstacles that are blocking your path and hindering you from moving forward, and they appear to be insurmountable?
Then this terrific video lesson is going to hit home with you. The video’s message is to let you know that those obstacles are only as real as you believe they are.
In this video you’ll see a group of children on an island in Thailand who faced a seemingly impossible situation. But they didn’t let that stop them. Instead of admitting defeat, they started asking better questions…
Ask Better Questions
Instead of saying, “Poor me, I have this obstacle,” allow the obstacle to cause you to ask better questions about how you can obliterate that obstacle or work around it.
Ask yourself, “How can I think outside the norms, past the expectations of the world around me, and beyond what’s acceptable – and then power through this thing like no one else has been able to do before me?”
Or figure out how to work around it in a surprising way. That’s exactly what happened in this true account of a group of determined young boys. This will most certainly inspire you…
Amazing, right?
Thinking about the experiences of this team, let’s take a closer look at obstacles. Let’s put them in their place!
What Is an Obstacle?
"Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goal."
― Henry Ford
Have you taken your eyes off those goals so that obstacles loom huge in your vision? Perhaps it’s time for you to revisit the goals that you established at the outset of your business venture. Now, be determined to keep your eyes on your goals.
Make the Circumstances
"People are always blaming their circumstances for what they are. I don't believe in circumstances. The people who get on in this world are the people who get up and look for the circumstances they want, and if they can't find them, make them."
― George Bernard Shaw
What circumstances are within your ability to change – or create? Are there time-saving systems that you could be assimilating into your business? Are there tasks you could be outsourcing? Do a study to see where you’re spinning your wheels and wasting valuable time.
Just this one simple step may remove a few obstacles. Try it and see.
Don’t Quit
"If you're trying to achieve, there will be roadblocks. I've had them; everybody has had them. But obstacles don't have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it."
― Michael Jordan
It doesn’t matter if you’re running a marathon, playing in the NBA, or building a real estate business, there’ll be times when you hit the wall. More than once you’ll be tempted to throw in the towel and quit. It happens to everybody. Don’t do it. Don’t quit.
Begin to brainstorm how many ways you can obliterate the obstacles. You’ll be surprised by the amazing ideas you can come up with if you just try.
You Get to Celebrate the Victories
"The greater the obstacle, the more glory in overcoming it."
― Molière
If you keep your eyes on your goal(s), if you get to it and create your own set of circumstances, and if you don’t quit, then you get to enjoy the victories – just like the innovative young men in this video. Imagine their joy and pride in such an amazing achievement. Now it’s your turn.
