YouTube and other video websites have really exploded the ability to teach. These days if you have a problem doing pretty much anything you can either ‘google’ or ‘YouTube’ it and see a solution. Here at Real Estate Mogul we’re all about teaching you how to maximize your wealth through our written and video lessons.
But we realize that you may not have a lot of time in your day to sit at a computer screen and watch a video. Sure there are times when you need to see how to install at faucet, or swap out an outlet where the video really helps. Most of the time, though, it seems like the educational videos consist of someone giving a speech onstage or at their desk in front of their computer.
Do you really need to watch these people just talking? Especially when they have an hour or two of great content.
Unless the speaker is a supermodel, I’m guessing probably not.
Make The Most of Your “Down Time”
Down time? Who has down time these days? Believe it or not, we all do. Now when I’m talking about down time I don’t necessarily mean you are sitting on your couch contemplating your navel. I’m talking time that you are not actively focused on a task. Let me give you some examples:
-
Driving on your commute to your regular job
-
Doing the dishes at your house
-
Running on the treadmill at the gym
-
Cutting the lawn
-
Sitting on a plane or in the airport waiting for the plane
Get the idea? All of these times do not command your full attention. Even driving in your car, you can still listen to the radio. These times would be great to spend on your real estate education at the same time, but you can’t do most of them and watch a video (except the plane travel one).
So PLEASE don’t try!!
You can, and probably do many times, listen to music or an audio during these times. Why not convert those great videos to audios and listen to actual Real Estate videos in audio format?
How To Convert YouTube and Other Video Formats to Audio Only
Want to convert a video from Preston Ely or one of our other staff members to audio? Just like I said above – you can ‘google’ how to do it. I’ve tried that. I’ve found four problems with most of the converters that I have googled. They either:
-
Can only convert videos to audio that are less than a certain length – usually 15-20 minutes
-
They want you to download a bunch of software and take the time to learn how to use it.
-
They cost money to buy the software
-
They can only convert one type of video format like YouTube
Many great instructional videos on the web can go for an hour or two. To convert these longer videos, it seems like you have to download expensive software. Besides, I’m not thrilled with downloading software from the web unless I know the company and know it’s virus and malware free. As for just one format – well I’m sure you’ve seen good instructional videos in places other than YouTube.
We’ve found a site on the web that takes care of all those problems.
Clip converter converts videos to all sorts of file formats. You can see how many different types of videos and sites it works with here. It’s free and can convert any length of video into audio.
And you don’t have to download anything on your computer (although you may be asked if you want to).
Clip Converter has a lot of other features. You can:
-
Download videos from the web to your computer and put them in any video format you need – great for viewing the content offline when you are in that plane or not near internet.
-
‘Clip’ parts of the video or audio, so you don’t have to listen to the whole thing – just what you are interested in.
-
Adjust the quality of the audio (or video) to save space or maximize the quality of the video on your screen.
-
Upload your own videos and convert them to another format.
-
Tag each audio or video with custom names so you can easily find them in your playlists or libraries
Here is a video explaining what you can do at the website.
