10 Things to Amp Your Motivation

Hey, Moguls. It’s time for another awe-inspiring Mindset Monday and today is all about amping up your motivation.

Why is motivation so vital when it comes to your investing business?

Because people (especially us self-employed entrepreneurs) need some sort of self-motivation to keep them moving forward. Motivation is fuel for action.

Without motivation, you would never take action. Without action, you’re not going to succeed.

The problem is, at one point or another, we all struggle with a lack of motivation – it’s just a fact of life. None of us is supposed to be turned up to 10 on the motivational dial all the time.

But the good thing is that we can prepare ourselves for these moments when we lack motivation.

Today I am going to give you one way to keep your motivation in check – specifically, I’m going to give you a checklist for 10 hacks to motivation.

Hack #1: Don’t Stress about Stuff You Can’t Change

Learn to recognize situations you can and can’t control.  Hyper focusing over things you can’t change just cripples and paralyzes you.

You need to focus on things that will move you forward.

Situations may not end up how you planned them, but the sooner you realize that you can't change them, the faster you will get over it and move on to triumph. RAWR!

Hack # 2: Maintain Jedi Energy

As the all-knowing Yoda has taught us, energy surrounds us.

Basically, you get what you expect, or another way to say it is: what you focus on expands.

So if you are expecting negative outcomes, in some sort of mysterious universal way, things tend to go in that direction. Don’t go to the dark side. Once you go down that path it’s fated.

Hack #3: Live in a Positivity Bubble

If you fill your brain with uplifting, inspirational information, then it will keep you motivated.

happy.jpgYou should always have some kind of inspirational book or something to keep you focused and energized. You need constant reminders telling you that you are capable of achievement. Live in a positivity bubble and never let anyone burst it.

Hack #4: Hang with Positive Peeps

Don’t be a Debbie Downer and don’t hang out with Negative Nancys if you can help it.

You tend to be the average of the 5 people you hang around with the most – not just financially – but mentally also. Negative people and conversations will bring you down, have you focused on all the wrong things, and may take your focus off of the goals you have already set.

Seek out positive people and don't engage in negative conversations. If you find yourself caught in the middle of a conversation that’s going awry, change the subject to something productive. Try saying something like, "Something great happened this week..." or   “I'm really excited about...”

Hack #5: I am Awesome. I am Awesome.

What you focus on EXPANDS.

Words are a powerful force to be reckoned with and have an impressive impact on your subconscious mind.

Regardless of what is going on around you, speak out loud what you want to happen. Write out an affirmation that you can say daily and put it up somewhere that you are sure to see it every day – like your bathroom mirror or your refrigerator door.

Hack #6: Don’t Fit the Definition of Crazy

We all make mistakes; the key is to learn from them and keep on moving.

Conduct regular self-evaluations and examine how you handled situations and what you could do differently next time. Write down possible solutions and outcomes so when you are faced with a problem you can properly think through the best way to handle it.

loserHack # 7: You Never Plan to Be a Loser

There is a very popular saying by Benjamin Franklin:

If you fail to plan, you plan to fail. A thoughtful plan is a motivating factor all by itself.”

You see not only the goal, but how to get there and so you just want to run for it.

When you take time to plan, you allow yourself to think through the entire process from beginning to end. This can spark ideas, improve productivity and ensure a great outcome.

Once you have a written agenda, you are immediately going to be motivated to accomplish it. Without one, you have nothing to run for and will end up feeling stuck. This works – so just do it.

Hack #8: Size Matters Not

Celebrate all victories, whether big or small.

Rewards play a huge part in staying motivated, so reward yourself each and every time you reach a goal. It could be anything from throwing a party to taking a weekend away or treating yourself to a movie night.

Never overlook the victories no matter how small.

Think about something you have recently accomplished and plan a way to celebrate it within the next 10 days. It can be as simple as going out for dinner or a beer. Reward yourself for a job well done.

Hack # 9: A Strong Backbone Is Made of Tiny Vertebrae

Having the right, supportive team in place to help you is crucial to your success.

You will be amazed at what you and your team can accomplish when you are all motivated and working toward the same goal.

It is worth the effort to put the right support system in place. Make a list of some winning people in your circle that you can partner with, exchange ideas with and who can help you get things done.

Hack # 10: And the Crowd Roars

Remind yourself about past successes and dream about future ones.

awesomeOftentimes we forget how far we've come and the successes we've already accomplished. Designate a token of achievement that you can carry with you to remind yourself that you are a winner. It doesn't matter if it is big or small. Make a showcase of your accomplishments…

Go back and look at your trophies, certificates, a special note of congratulations or anything that will keep you motivated when you are facing tough life moments. Imagine accomplishing your future dreams. Rehearse those moments in your head.
