Superman called. He said he’s finally going to retire. Oh, and you’re in charge now.
What’s that? You can’t follow in Superman’s footsteps? You don’t have what it takes?
We beg to differ.
Yes, really. You can stop laughing now. We're serious.
It’s time to stop pretending that you are inadequate or, somehow, lacking “what it takes” to be great (or even “super”). The truth is you’ve got everything it takes – and more.
A Dirty Little Secret
Here’s a dirty little secret about capitalism...
Although the free market economy is brilliantly profitable and economically efficient in most regards, the basic laws of supply and demand are fundamentally flawed on a philosophical basis: You do not need to demand any new supplies. Your success is not contingent on your receipt of any future resources!
It’s true. On one hand, you can give unlimited resources to “the wrong guy”, and he will consistently squander every asset you provide for him (time, money, manpower, encouragement, etc.). On the other hand, even if you don’t give any resources to “the right guy”, he will still find a way to get the job done.
You don’t believe me? Ask Steve Jobs. Or Elvis Presley. Or Benjamin Franklin.
Oh…
Waitaminute…
Yeah, I guess you can’t ask those guys.
But ask yourself what would happen if you committed to maximizing your current potential as an investor/human, rather than waiting around for some “missing piece” to make you whole. What would happen if you flexed your muscles a bit?
What would happen if Marianne Williamson was correct in her most famous works:
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we're liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
If this is true, then you already have what it takes to give Superman quite a run for his money!
Easier Said Than Done?
Of course, this sort of self-actualization is much easier said than done. Theory is one thing, but practice is another.
And according to mindset maven Dan Nichols, one of the most challenging hurdles to overcome in this area involves debunking the “One More Thing” myth. We’ve already covered a lot of ground with Dan during recent weeks, including his helpful commentaries about:
Today Dan escorts us deeper into the recesses of the human psyche, explaining the “One More Thing” myth in a way that is both educational and empowering, for investors and non-investors alike. So grab your cape and kiss Lois Lane “goodbye”, because the world needs a ton of help – and you’ve already got exactly what it takes.

-
Stop Waiting – Stop waiting for your research to teach you “everything you need to know” about successful investing.
-
Stop Waiting – Stop waiting for an imaginary “missing piece” to finalize your preparations for success.
-
Stop Waiting – Stop telling yourself that you’ll seize the day “some day”.
-
Stop Waiting – Stop kicking the tires and “buy the car”! (Just do it!)
