There is an invisible force at work within you right this moment that is either helping you or destroying you. It is neither good nor bad. It simply IS.
This force is your subconscious mind.
Your subconscious mind is secretly on a do-or-die mission to preserve your life. I don't know if you realize that or not. When you're not consciously processing information, IT IS.
Hooray for the subconscious mind.
The very best analogy to describe your subconscious is of course, a computer. And as opposed to the $3,000 Mac I just bought, we all come equipped with a free one when we are born.
That's the good news.
The BAD news is your free computer didn't come with an operating system. It can only do what you order (program) it to do. Unfortunately, most people are simply not experienced programmers, and they have no desire to become one (on account of it takes actual effort).
Warning...
Unlike regular computer programming, you cannot outsource this type of work to India.
Believe me, I've tried. All that happened was I started instinctively putting curry on my oatmeal.
It was horrible. I farted fire for like a week. I singed my cat's hair off and almost burnt my penthouse down. The fire marshal told me it was the first code violation he ever had to give to someone's butt.
I digress.
But seriously...who's programming you?
The overwhelming majority of people in this world rely on the government, The Man, the devil, the media, Barney the Purple Dinosaur, and their boss to program the computer in their head FOR them.
One thing that separates successful people from non-successful people is first of all KNOWING ALL THIS, and then proactively controlling the programming.
I can sum up proper internal-programming in just one sentence. I know there's lots of people out there who would like to make it a lot more complex so they can sell you stuff, but it just isn't all that complicated. Here you go...
Purposefully think about things that are true, faithful, and loving of yourself, others, and the world, and refuse to allow any false, fearful and evil thoughts in.
It's just that simple.
And in another upcoming lesson, I'm going to go into detail as to exactly how you go about doing it.
For now, start noticing how often your mind automatically drifts off to the world of criticism, fear, worry, hatred, and sex with famous people. Not good. It's time for a change, buddy.
-
Start by embracing the idea that God created your brain, like a computer, to be programmable. Many have a hard time even grasping the concept to start with. But you can't really understand how to program (or reprogram) yourself until you first believe that you can. So start by actually developing a belief in this concept, if you don't already.
-
Stop making excuses and blaming the world around you. Chances are, if you feel held back, it's your own limiting beliefs holding you back, not the world or people or circumstances around you. You need to start owning your current state, before you can hope to effectively change it.
-
Start paying attention to the voices in your head. Whether good or bad, that's your current programming talking. Pay attention to what you're saying to yourself...and in my next lesson, we'll start looking at how to change it for the better.

And as I said above, start purposefully thinking about things that are true, faithful, and loving of yourself, others, and the world, and refusing to allow any false, fearful and evil thoughts in. Next time I'll get into the how...
