Your Beliefs: How They're Messing You Up

door knockerBelieve it or not, the thing that most often keeps people stuck and unable to move forward are their own beliefs.

Not, not your belief in Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny or the Great Pumpkin.

I’m talking about those hidden “limiting beliefs” buried deep in our subconscious, that we often don’t even know we have.

Today we’re going to talk about those pesky “limiting beliefs” and how to go about obliterating them. You may be surprised when you learn where your beliefs actually come from, and the powerful death-grip they can have on you without you even realizing it.

You have no idea how much you’re holding yourself back.

But the good news is, once you know about your limiting beliefs, you can absolutely change them and replace them with new beliefs that actually rocket you forward.

It seems a lot of people have a hard time grasping the idea that, much like a computer, our brains can be programmed – but they absolutely can. But sadly most people don't even think to upgrade their flawed mental programming until the hard drive flat out crashes on them.

Do It To It! Immediate Action Steps

Steps to annihilating limiting beliefs:

  • Pay attention to self-talk. Notice the words that you speak – they are clues about the limiting beliefs that shape you (you may not even realize you have). Also start paying attention to your ‘I am’s.
  • Take note. Anytime you catch yourself saying or thinking something limiting…write it down
  • Get others to help. Ask the people in your life to point it out to you when they notice it.
  • Reprogram the lie. Intentionally and expressly envision the opposite of the lie, to reinforce it.. As you start catching those old lies and start replacing them with the truth, your limiting beliefs will fall away, slowly but surely.
